Nonviolent communication (NVC) is a communication method for fostering empathy and resolving conflict by focusing on needs and feelings rather than judgment. Developed by Marshall Rosenberg, NVC uses a four-step process: stating observations, identifying feelings, connecting those feelings to needs, and making clear requests. This approach aims to create compassionate, authentic dialogue where everyone’s needs can be met without guilt or shame.
