Our Fellowships


The Serenity Center supports multiple 12-step recovery fellowships and self-help groups.

Organizations with active meetings at the Center are listed alphabetically below.

Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA)

Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA) is a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition program of men and women who grew up in alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional homes.

Al-Anon (AL-ANON)

Al‑Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.

Alcohólicos Anónimos (AA)

Alcohólicos Anónimos (A.A.) es una comunidad de hombres y mujeres que comparten su experiencia, fortaleza y esperanza para resolver su problema común con el alcoholismo. El único requisito para ser miembro es el deseo de dejar de beber, y no hay cuotas ni costos; se mantienen a través de sus propias contribuciones. Su objetivo principal es mantener la sobriedad y ayudar a otros alcohólicos a alcanzarla, y ofrecen reuniones y un programa de los Doce Pasos para guiar la recuperación.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. It doesn’t cost anything to attend A.A. meetings. There are no age or education requirements to participate. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem.

A.A.’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Co-Dependents Anonymous (CODA)

Co-Dependents Anonymous is a twelve-step program operating in 72 countries for people who share a common desire to develop functional and healthy relationships. The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy & loving relationships.

Emotions Anonymous (EA)

Emotions Anonymous (EA) is a fellowship composed of people who come together in weekly support group meetings for the purpose of working toward recovery from emotional difficulties. EA members are from many walks of life and are of diverse ages, economic statuses, and social and educational backgrounds.

The only requirement for EA membership is a desire to become well emotionally.

Gamblers Anonymous (GA)

Gamblers Anonymous (GA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. There are no dues or fees for Gamblers Anonymous membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. Gamblers Anonymous is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. Our primary purpose is to stop gambling and to help other compulsive gamblers do the same.

Marijuana Anonymous (MA)

Marijuana Anonymous (MA) is a free peer-support program focused entirely on our shared problem with marijuana or cannabis addiction. Marijuana Anonymous uses the basic 12 Steps, founded by Alcoholics Anonymous, because it has been proven that the 12-Step recovery program works.

Nar-Anon (NAR-ANON)

The Nar-Anon Family Groups is primarily for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to you. We have traveled that unhappy road too, and found the answer with serenity and peace of mind. Narateen is part of the Nar-Anon program for teens affected by someone else’s addiction.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)

NA is a nonprofit Fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using.

Nicotine Anonymous (NICA)

Nicotine Anonymous (NicA) is a fellowship of men and women helping each other to live nicotine-free lives.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC)

Nonviolent communication (NVC) is a communication method for fostering empathy and resolving conflict by focusing on needs and feelings rather than judgment. Developed by Marshall Rosenberg, NVC uses a four-step process: stating observations, identifying feelings, connecting those feelings to needs, and making clear requests. This approach aims to create compassionate, authentic dialogue where everyone’s needs can be met without guilt or shame.

Overeaters Anonymous (OA)

Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors.

Porn Addicts Anonymous (PAA)

Pornography Addicts Anonymous (PAA) is a fellowship for individuals recovering from pornography addiction, using a 12-step program similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. Meetings are held in various formats, and members share their experiences to find freedom from compulsive pornography use. The only requirement to join is a desire to stop using pornography.

Recovery Dharma (RD)

Recovery Dharma (RD) is a Buddhist-inspired approach to recovery from addiction of all kinds. It is a peer-led community that is unified by our trust in the potential of each of us to recover and find freedom from the suffering of addiction through our own inner wisdom and our own path. Traditional Buddhist teachings, often referred to as the Dharma, offer a powerful approach to healing from addiction and living a life of true freedom.

Recovery from Food Addiction (RFA)

RFA is a fellowship of women and men dedicated to physical, spiritual, and emotional recovery by abstaining from sugar, flour, and wheat in all forms and by living the twelve steps of recovery to the best of our ability. We share a common goal of “Recovery from Food Addiction” thereby finding freedom from the insatiable craving and the merciless obsession of addictive eating.

Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA)

Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, or S.L.A.A., is a program for anyone who suffers from an addictive compulsion to engage in or avoid sex, love, or emotional attachment. We use the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to recover from these compulsions. We are united in a common focus: dealing with our addictive sexual and emotional behavior.

Sexaholics Anonymous (SA)

Sexaholics Anonymous (SA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from sex addiction.

SMART Recovery (SMART)

SMART Recovery is an international community of peer support groups that aims to help people recover from addictive and problematic behaviors. SMART stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. The SMART approach is secular and research-based.
